Great Day for a Swim!

After hiking Devil's Head, we decided to take the girls to Chatfield SP while Dave did his last open-water swim before his tri this weekend. It was a nice 75 deg day afternoon and perfect for a dip in the water.

We used a stake tie-out for the girls so they had a bit more freedom. After Dave's swim, we decided to see how they would do in the water.

Belle only went in as deep as her thighs but that was still much more brave than we thought she'd be. Sequoia, of course, is fearless and will try just about anything once. She pranced through the water, jumping and splashing, until she reached a huge drop off in the water. It took her all the way under suddenly (Dave was right next to her) and she panicked a bit.

From that moment on, she'd make an abrupt stop each time she approached that part of the water. Even the lab fetching a tennis ball wasn't enough for her to go past that point. We were still very proud of her for being as brave as she was.

Must say, she was pretty darn cute soaked like a little drowned rat. What a fun day it was!
