Happy 4 months!

Hard to believe Kyle is already 4 months old! Time has just flown by. I honestly can say I never thought it was possible to love a baby as much as I love Kyle. He's a miracle. He's precious. He makes me smile. He makes me cry. But most of all, he makes me love!

His 4 month old check up went well. He's 14.5 lbs and 24.5" tall with a 90th percentile head (!). Kyle has always had a huge head-- I think he was born with a head in the 95th percentile (I would argue that this is why his entrance was so painful!). He's a bit on the short side (must get that from me) and his weight gain has slowed a bit since we started daycare, but Ped says he's still doing perfect on just mommy's milk. Doc says he would like to see him go to 6 months on just my milk and then we can start introducing solid foods after nursing sessions. He's a great little feeder, so I have no issues with that plan.

The Ped did alot of tests and asked a few questions to gauge his social and motor development skills. Dr. Bob once asked "have you noticed if he has learned to put his hands together yet?" and Dave replied while pointing to Kyle "you mean like that?" It was as if Kyle heard what Dr. Bob was asking and wanted to show how smart he was by performing the action Dr. Bob was asking about! Such a good boy! He put him on his tummy to see if he could lift his head and was surprised that Kyle immediately lifted his head, pushed up with his arms and started scanning the room. He's definitely always been very strong!

He got his 4 month vaccines too. It's always so hard on me because he goes from pure happy and content to mad screaming. He doesn't like them AT ALL. He's actually a bit of a drama king about it. So far though he has handled the side effects better than he did at 2 months. He hasn't run a fever and he's still slept pretty well. He's quite a bit fussier when he's awake, but it'll pass, so I'm tolerating it.
